Eagle Mills Craft Show

For the last two weekends, Pat and I have been selling our matted and framed antique postcard art at Eagle Mills. We did fairly well both weekends, peaking on this past Sunday. When it got slow, I played with the camera a bit. This is an example of a two postcard collage. There are two different scenes that, with some imagination, become a panorama of an Adirondack canoe ride near an island. We have several like this, but typically do not use the thin matte board separator, instead we put the post cards together and matte around the resultant shape as shown in the next example.

In this collage, we managed to find 3 postcards of Adirondack scenes with similar paper quality, texture, color and composition with enough detail to line up features from one postcard to the next. Triples are very difficult to make. We have only put 5 or 6 together in the 3 years we have been doing this work. The glare when taking these photos of the final product in the tent is distracting enough that Pat and I agree we will photograph going forward prior to putting the piece under glass.

Here are some other photos of Eagle Mills.
